For over 25 years we have covered every bit of India's cities, towns, villages and roads. Apart from Geography, it was like attending a master class on India's Arts, Culture, History and the intangible but very real Indianness which oozes out of every particle of the soil of this ancient and amazing land. We thought it is time to share this priceless knowledge and the insights which could be gained from it with our fellow citizens. We are calling it 'Sanskriti', which we believe comes closest to a one-word thumbnail sketch of the country.

What is 'Sanskriti' to us? Sanskriti refers to the rich and diverse cultural heritage of India. It encompasses various aspects of life including religion, traditions, customs, philosophy art, music, and dance that have evolved over thousands of years.

Sanskriti is folklore derived from Ramayana and Mahabharata which touch every corner of Indian Sanskriti is also modern Archeologists and Anthropologists poring over our detailed maps marking out places where Rama and Krishna might have left their indelible marks; Sanskriti is the voice of a village lass humming an improvised lullaby to put her child to sleep and Sanskriti is also Lata Mangeshkar's voice mesmerizing you from every tea shop year after she passed away; Sanskriti is school children all over India playing cricket in front of the school wall with chalk marked non-linear stumps and Sanskriti is also the legacy of Sachin Tendulkar's exploits which Indians carry in their hearts over a decade after he bid adieu to the imported game which is now a part of the Indian DNA.
